5 years ago, it started as a dream... now, its a reality!

Philippine K9 Search & Rescue Foundation Inc. (Phk9SAR) teams are now certified by the National Association for Search and Rescue (NASAR) of U.S.A.. Kenneth and Kristine Lesperance, both NASAR instrucutors from Hawaii arrived here in the Philippines to handle the training and examinations.

The Philippine K9 Search and Rescue Foundation Inc. (PHK9SAR) is a non-profit organization. It is the first and only SEC-registered Canine Search & Rescue group in the Philippines and US NASAR-recognized and have several certified teams in Souteast Asia. It will respond to all emergency calls, national and eventually international, requiring a canine search team. All services offered to requesting agencies and to the family of the lost person all free of charge.

Our Objectives Are:

To provide highly-trained Search Dog Teams for Search & Rescue Operations specifically:

  • Area Search - locate any human scent in the area, usually after natural disasters like earthquakes or landslides.
  • Cadaver Search - locate dead bodies or human decomposition such as tissue, blood, or bones.
  • Urban Disaster Search - locate disaster victims buried in rubble from collapsed buildings usually caused by earthquakes or bomb attacks.
  • Trail Search - locate people missing in forests, mountains, and urban areas.
  • Water Search - help police find homicide and drowning victims or human decomposition which emanates from under the water.

To provide Trainings for working dogs geared towards Search & Rescue Missions including organizing Tests and Certifications for Search Dog Teams in the Philippines

To promote knowledge, interest, and use of trained dogs for Search & Rescue missions.

ImageSAR dogs can find: children lost in the wilderness, parks or hidden in shrubbery around houses, old people who have wandered away from homes and hospitals, hikers and hunters lost in the woods, victims of drowning accidents, victims of avalanche, earthquake, flood, explosion, fire, train wrecks, plane crashes, tornadoes and other disasters.
